Simplifier ("we," "our," or "us") is an iOS application that uses artificial intelligence to help users understand complex documents. The app is available on the Apple App Store. Our contact email is privacy@simplifierai.org.
When you analyze a document using Simplifier, the text content of your document is transmitted to the Google Gemini API to generate an analysis (summary, explanation, simplification, or answer to your question). We do not store, log, or retain this content. It is used solely to generate your result and is not linked to your identity.
Google Gemini processes your content according to Google's API Terms of Service and Privacy Policy. Google does not use data submitted through the API to train its models (as of our last review — please verify with Google's current policies).
If you purchase a subscription, all billing is handled by Apple via In-App Purchase. We do not receive or store your credit card information, Apple ID, or payment details. We may receive from Apple only a receipt token confirming whether you have an active subscription, which is used solely to unlock premium features.
We collect anonymous, aggregated usage statistics through Apple's built-in analytics framework and/or a privacy-respecting analytics service. This may include:
This data cannot be used to identify you individually. It helps us improve app stability and prioritize features.
If you contact us by email, we receive and store your email address and the content of your message in order to respond to you. We do not use this for marketing and do not share it with third parties.
We use the information described above only for the following purposes:
We do not use your information to serve you advertising, sell data to third parties, build a user profile, or track you across apps or websites.
Document content you submit is sent to the Google Gemini API for AI-powered analysis. Google processes this data as a data processor on our behalf. We have configured our API usage to disable training on submitted data. For more information, see Google's Privacy Policy.
Apple handles all In-App Purchase transactions, subscription management, and device analytics through iOS. Apple's Privacy Policy governs their handling of your data.
Since we do not store document content, there is nothing to retain or delete in that regard. Contact inquiry emails are retained for up to 24 months and then deleted. Anonymous analytics data is retained in aggregate form indefinitely for product improvement.

Simplifier is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has submitted personal information to us, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.
All data transmitted between the app and our services (including the Google Gemini API) is encrypted using TLS/HTTPS. We do not maintain databases of user content. Our API keys and backend credentials are stored securely and are never exposed to end users.
If you are located in the European Union or another jurisdiction with data transfer restrictions, please be aware that document content you submit may be processed by Google Gemini on servers located in the United States or other countries. By using the app, you acknowledge and consent to this transfer.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, notify users through the app. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
